Storyline

Following on from the story of Yendorian Tales Book I and Yendorian Tales Book I: Chapter 2, the seal on the wizard Paltivar has been broken and his return to the lands of Yendor is imminent. However, as dire as the threat from the great wizard is, the kingdoms in the land of Thaine are on the brink of war themselves and must be pacified if the wizard’s threat is to be averted.

  1. Hi,

I am dying to play this game and I would really like to know where to find the full version. The demo does not let me go further than a certain point

  2. Hi there,

This game has been abandonware for a long time as far as I know, so here is a link to the full versions of Yendor 2 and 3:

  6. Terry, thank you very much for the link to these two games. You have no idea how much they mean to me because of nostalgia factor.

  7. Hey man! You are GOD!- thanks for YT 2 and YT3 full versions :) Your site is the only source from which people are able to download both games! Thanks alot again :)

  8. I’m happy to help out my fellow Yendor fans! :)

  9. I actually bought these games within the last 6 years (can’t remember exactly)FROM the company’s website. I’ve since had that particular hard drive crash on me, and I cannot recall if I received disks in the mail, or just downloaded from the site.
I first found out about these games from some shareware site, and absolutely fell in love with book 2 (i had never played the first top down game.) If you go to http://www.gamefaqs.com you will find that the shareware versions are the SAME as the FULL VERSION. I wrote a guide to help people give themselves any item and in doing so, found out how to get around the shareware limitation. really, the only thing blocking you from finishing the game is an extra line of code in the game which makes you stop at a certain point.
Using a hex editor, you can give yourself any item. and by giving yourself the correct item, you can bypass the spot that stops you (a key if i remember correctly) which will teleport you to a town full of skeletons if i remember correctly. This is exactly where that blocked portal would have dumped you out at. So I was able to enjoy the rest of that game, which made me finally purchase the games from the site. It’s sad that the site is gone now, as I would have loved to see if perhaps the game engine was available to purchase so that we could see some decent homebrew dungeon crawlers.

Thank you very much for posting this file. and if anyone wants to cheat a little and give yourself any item, then check my guide at gamefaqs. I painstakingly went through EVERY SINGLE ITEM IN GAME. Since some items caused the game to crash, I assure you it was a lengthy process. Keep in mind that this is for the second chapter, but I would assume that the hex info probably works for the third book as well. (though the items may be different, or there might be more.)
Hope this helps a few people enjoy this game a bit more. I would probably refrain from using the hex hack too early in your adventure, just so you dont spoil the game for yourself. If you need a little money, or some food, go for it, but leave the high power weapons for later on, or if you have problems, or are going for your second playthrough.

    ENJOY!!!

  10. Hey Volyren

Thanks for commenting. Good stuff on the guide :) The cool thing is, I’m almost certain I came across your very guide a long time ago! It might have gotten me out of some bother near the end of the game ;)

By the way, correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t the Yendor3 list was different? I have a Yendor 3 list of items here (TODO: Upload this!) that I did at the time and they are indeed different.

On that note, I really would love to see Yendor recreated / cloned for a modern day game. It’d be a fantastic achievement I think and it really is such a wonderful game, even still.

    Thanks for posting again :)

    Regards
    Terry
